Dear Jamie and the rest of the management crew at Doe Bay, We just wanted to take a moment and let you all know how wonderful we felt about our stay and our wedding at Doe Bay over the memorial weekend. Other than some not-so-comfy beds- our wedding and honeymoon was paradise and PERFECTION from start to finish. From Yolanda magically and graciously removing our pre-wedding celebration wine stains from our carpet and chair in Doe Baby (oops), to Hanna and Rory for generously and lovingly giving over their Friday evening to witness our event. Of course the rest of your staff was great as well but the MVP award has to go to Dawn Shahar, who helped plan and perform our ceremony with beauty and perfect grace. I cannot tell you how genuinely happy and relaxed we were with this woman who seemed tapped into our needs and really embodied the spirit we wanted and needed for our special day. Her energy and her beautiful words of wisdom as well as her perfectly written vows for us will be a part of our memories forever. I am sure you hear this a lot- but Doe Bay will always be a special place for us- not just because of the stunning and vibrant views and nature- but because of the genuine kindness and generous spirit that these valuable staff members gave us during our stay. Thank you Doe Bay, for hiring these great people and making our stay a perfect one. It was, for the both of us, the best four days of our lives. We will be back! Thanks again. Mary and Blue Tafuri To the Good People who own and operate Doe Bay: Just wanted to send an email telling you what a great place Doe Bay has become and how nice it was to stay there last weekend. Had an excellent time staying in the hostel and having breakfast and dinner at the cafe. Everyone I came across—from the people at the front desk, to the folks working the cafe and kitchen, to the people working the grounds and housekeeping—were amazingly warm, helpful and welcoming. And speaking of the cafe: Wow. The best dinners I've had a in a long time. Seriously. And the wait-staff was sooo friendly (I wish I knew names so that I could mention each and every one specifically.) Love the garden, too. Amazing work (and such a good idea to grow so much of your own produce). I could go on and on. Instead, I think I'll just have to come back. Hopefully very soon. Thank you! What an amazing experience. This was our first trip to the island and no doubt will always be the most special. Harold, thank you for helping us make this a memorable occasion by assisting me with last minute reservations. One day away and to have been offered, what we like to think, the best campsite on the grounds. It was quiet and relaxing and though we didn't have a water view, we had the experience of waking and watching at least a half dozen deer wander through our area. The crows prove to be hilarious entertainment as well. To those that have yet to experience Doe Bay Resort, the place has a wonderful 'positive' energy, great scenery, excellent cafe, friendly staff, and so many things to do. The walk to our Orca Yurt, kayaking, listening to wonderful music on open mike night, eating delicious organic food in the cafe, talking to people in the hot tub, the outstanding customer service, the massage therapist's amazing hands, and I could keep on going...
